Dear Lina,
I muddle by, but in no way beyond moderation. I don’t do much work anymore. I do not accomplish much and I must be satisfied with it. About politics, to be sure I still get dutifully angry but I do not bat with my wings anymore, but ruffle only the feathers. I now wish you from the bottom of my heart quiet and more careless days in the smaller house. You will probably be surprised that you didn’t arrange it that way sooner. One does not jump however so easily out of deeply rooted habits — not even you.
Heartfelt greetings, Your Albert*
A wonderful letter written from Albert Einstein (my cousin) to Lina (his cousin and my great-grandmother).
So amazing!

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made.
How many other things are we missing?

Your task is not to seek for love, But merely to seek and find All the barriers within yourself That you have built against it.

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass the world is too full to talk about.” ~ Rumi

Alexi Murdoch - “Wait”
Feel I’m on the verge of some great truth
Where I’m finally in my place,
But I’m fumbling still for proof
And it’s cluttering my space,
Casting shadows on my face.
I know I have a strength to move ahead.
I can hardly leave my room
So I’ll sit perfecty still
And I’ll listen for a tune
When the mind is on the moon. And if I stumble,
And if I stall,
And if I slip now,
And if I should fall,
And if I can’t be all that I could be,
Will you, will you wait for me?Cause everywhere I seem to be,
I am only passing through.
I dream these days about the sea,
Always wake up feeling blue,
Wishing I could dream of you.So if I stumble,
And if I fall,
And if I slip now,
And lose it all,
And if I can’t be all that I could be,
Will you, will you wait for me?Posted on November 8, 2009 via sweet catastrophe with 6 notes
